Satire, Fiction and Parody Policy

Fairly True is a satirical publication. Nothing here is a news report unless a piece says so explicitly and links to its source.

Our labels

• SATIRE / FICTION: the people, companies, institutions and events are invented. Any resemblance to real ones is coincidental.
• SATIRE · BASED ON REAL EVENTS: a satirical response to a documented real event. The event is linked where it is possible. Everything else, including quotes and dialogue, is invented.
• COMMENTARY: opinion and analysis written with satirical licence.
• PARODY: imitation of a format, genre or style in order to comment on it. It is not an official statement from anyone.

Parodies of films and cultural works

When we rework film logic or a classic scene, the illustration is original, the dialogue is newly written, and the piece comments on the source rather than borrowing its recognition.

Sharing our work

If you share a piece, please share it with its label and link. A quote or screenshot with the label removed can be mistaken for real reporting.
